Paint Along With Plaid Crafts

So you may have noticed a new little button over there in my side bar === >
I'm super excited to announce that I'm an official Ambassador for Plaid Crafts!

So in celebration, I want to share with you a fun event that I was able to take part of, and you can too! It's called Paint Along with Plaid Crafts and if you click right HERE this link will take you to the Facebook Event for the Lucky Llama Paint Along Party. Now technically it was a live party, but you can watch the replay and paint along still too, which is what my good friend Betsy and I did together!

To begin we each put all of these beautiful Plaid Paints into our palates. Following the instructions from our fabulous hosts we painted the background with this beautiful new Prairie Sunset color. You can find all of the supplies we used right HERE and you'll SAVE a few dollars if you order before 3/31/2018. We mixed a bit of the Prairie Sunset with Titanium White randomly while the paint was still wet for a fun background.

Next we followed the instructions for sketching out the llama's body with our paint brush. It's surprisingly easy when they break it down into the basic shapes with you.

Then we continued to fill in our llama with paint and then used the gorgeous Metallic Rose paint to do the border. The border looks so complex but it's pretty easy. Four straight lines and then do the little dashes for leaves. Then add a little dot to the center of the leaves for more interest.

I had to throw in an action photo so you could see I actually painted this! LOL! I'm not an artist at all but I sure felt like one. Here I'm adding some of the details to my llama.

So my llama looks a little different from the one on the screen, but that's the fun of art. Nothing is perfect and you should put your own spin on things!

Here's a shot of the llama almost complete with some of his pom poms added to his blanket and reins. It was SO easy to do with the Detail Painters from Plaid. Seriously, I'm in love with them and know I'll be using them in the future... especially in my paper crafting...

To finish off this adorable little llama we added my very favorite product, Mod Podge Sparkle! Who doesn't need a little sparkle in their llama? I love the glittery shimmer that Mod Podge Sparkle adds to my crafts, with out the mess of glitter! Here we applied it pretty thick to give some extra texture to our llama.

Here's my completed masterpiece, with all of the products we used to make it. You could get by with just 2 - 3 brushes for this entire painting, and see that green one? That's the Detail Painter! We used it for all of the big pom poms. The small ones were done with the wrong end of the paint brush.

I just had to include this photo of the Metallic Paints we used on this painting, they are really gorgeous! It makes me want to paint everything in beautiful jewel-toned metallic paint!

Here's one more look at our finished piece, with our Lucky Llama friend! You never know what fun stuff Betsy is going to pull out when we craft together...

And finally here are both of us with our masterpieces! I loved how they both turned out, the same and yet different!

I can't wait for the next Paint Along Party with Plaid. You can check out all of their great products at their webpage: https://plaidonline.com/ and you can also get inspired on their Facebook Page: Plaid Crafts Facebook. I can't wait to show you more amazing projects that I create with my favorite Plaid Crafts products!

Little Darlings Rubber Stamps Card from Creativation

Hey Everyone! I wanted to take the next few posts to share some of the fun projects I made while attending this year's Creativation Show. Creativation is a trade show for the craft and hoddy industry and is a LOT of fun to attend.

Today I'm sharing this fun card using stamps and dies from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps. If you'd like to check out more of their products, just click HERE for their website! I had a blast playing in their booth and trying to win one of their fantastic tote bags!

After stamping this beautiful flower image we used water color paints to color it in. Then we stamped the stem of the flower on the base piece of card stock in green ink. Then we die cut the flower with the matching die and used some foam adhesive to layer the flower over the stem. Next we added the cute little lady bugs to the background and topped them off with a pearl for added dimension. Then we layered our card as shown above and in no time flat had a beautiful any occasion card!

Thanks for stopping my my blog today, I hope to see you again soon!

Unicorm Wristlet with Kunin Felt at Creativation

Hey Everyone! I wanted to take the next few posts to share some of the fun projects I made while attending this year's Creativation Show. Creativation is a trade show for the craft and hoddy industry and is a LOT of fun to attend.

I'm pretty sure this Corduroy Felt from Kunin is one of my favorite discoveries at the Creativation show this year! Which is funny because I mostly craft with paper and vinyl. But there is something about the texture of this felt that I just LOVE! So I can't wait to get my hands one more of it soon so I can start creating more fun projects... Girl Scout Camp Projects anyone?

So this sweet unicorn pouch is just a sheet of the Corduroy White Felt folded in half and hot glued along the sides, making sure you glue in the rainbow pom pom trim handle along the one side. Then we glued the white pom pom trim along each side. Next you will cut a horn, ears and eyelid/lashes out of pieces of felt and hot glue like I did above. Finally, use a piece of tulle that you accordion fold and tie off in the middle with some tread and hot glue at the base of the horn for hair. Finally just add some hook and loop tape along the top for a closure and you are ready to take your purse out shopping!

Hope you'll check back again with me again soon for more fun projects!

Hedgehog Block with Dremel Tool from Creativation

Hey Everyone! I wanted to take the next few posts to share some of the fun projects I made while attending this year's Creativation Show. Creativation is a trade show for the craft and hoddy industry and is a LOT of fun to attend.

Today's project is this adorable engraved wall hanging that we made using a Dremel Tool and a Wood Canvas!

What's so cool about this project is that you don't have to be an artist to make some thing that is so beautiful! We used a coloring book image of a hedge hog and transferred it onto this wooden canvas with graphite paper. Then I just used the Dremel Tool to trace over my lines and it carved them into my canvas! To add a little pop of color I adhered this fun felt flower and now I've got an ADORABLE wall hanging.

Just think of how simple it would be to create any number of fun pieces with just some wood and a Dremel Tool! See you again for more great projects soon!

Gorgeous Ecstasy Crafts Die Cut Card from Creativation

Hey Everyone! I wanted to take the next few posts to share some of the fun projects I made while attending this year's Creativation Show. Creativation is a trade show for the craft and hoddy industry and is a LOT of fun to attend.

This card was created at the Ecstasy Crafts Creativation booth and WOW is it gorgeous! I honestly don't remember the names of all of the products that we used but there was a flower maker that shaped the flowers so fast and easily with just a mist of water!

Instead of adhering the birdcage flat to the card I just did a dot of glue on the edges and popped it up for extra dimension.

It was surprisingly quick and painless to create this stunning card! I can't wait to share more projects with you soon!
