Gingerbread Altered Can

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share an "altered item" that I made for a Design Team audition. This was a can of chocolate covered potato chips that I bought at Target last year. The chips are long gone but I huung on to the can because someday I was going to get around to actually doing something with it! Well, that day has come and I was thrilled with the results!
I used some Twinkle Jewels from Cutter's Creek to accent the peppermints on the lid and the band around the tin. I also was able to use a TON of ribbons from my stash to decorate the handle. My favorite is the brown rick-rack though. I just love rick-rack!

Flower Soft Valentine

For today’s project I wanted to show that you can use Flower Soft for more than just flowers!

To begin I made a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” top fold card from grey cardstock. Then I cut 2 pieces of black cardstock to 4” x 5 ¼”, one for the inside and one for the outside. Next I cut my patterned paper to 3 ¾” x 5”. Then I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of 2” x 3 ¾” white cardstock. I adhered this to my patterned paper about 1” down from the top with my Tombow Mono Adhesive tape runner. Then I used my 1/8” wide Scor-Tape to adhere the black rick-rack. Next I cut 1 ¼” and 1” hearts using my George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge. I then placed them on my non-stick Bazzill Splat Mat and covered them with Flower Soft Glue. I sprinkled Baby Pink Flower Soft all over the glue and let it dry. Then I adhered the larger heart to my card with Pop Up Dots. For the inside I cut a piece of plain white cardstock to 3 ¾” x 5” and adhered scraps of my patterned paper to the top and bottom. They are about ¾” x 3 ¾”. Then I adhered my pink ribbon with more Scor-Tape. I stamped my sentiment and added my 1” heart. Finally I layered the second black piece of cardstock under the white and adhered everything to the inside of my card. I’m so happy with the way this card turned out! Sometimes if you just start messing around with supplies you can amaze yourself!

Kim 'N Cath Tags

Here are more of the tags I have created for Kim 'N Cath Bags! Check them out on Facebook at Kim ‘n Cath Bags! I have had so much fun using papers I love but just don't have enough of to do a whole layout! Also finding a home for some of the millions of embelishments I have in my stash has been very rewarding! All of this creating has been giving me some new layout ideas as well! If you look hard at the 3rd and 4th tags you might notice the little round "beads... they are actually really cool flat backed glass marbles called Twinkle Jewels! You can find them at Cutter’s Creek. The pink ones I actually dyed myself with the Ranger Alcohol Ink which is also available in the Cutter's Creek Store here. It was super easy to do... just put a hand full of clear Twinkle Jewels into a small zip-lock baggie, add a few drops of dye and squish around until they are coated. Then let them dry and put them on your project for a little extra Twinkle. Cutter's Creek also sells here them in pre-dyed mixes in case you want someone else to do the messy part for you :) Also, if you LOVE the butterfly in the 4th tag it is from the new Cricut Cartridge called Ashlyn's Alphabet. Not only is it a gorgeous font cartridge but it has some beautiful icons and other images too! You can find it here. I'm also learning a little more about how HTML code works... can you tell :)
