Girl Scout Bunny Craft with Plaid Paints

Hello Everyone! Today I want to share a fun and simple craft that I made with my Girl Scout troop! For this project you will need a 2x4 cut into 8" tall pieces, wood heart shapes, wire, wired burlap ribbon and a pretty floral ribbon, a hot glue gun Plaid Crafts Folk Art Paints in white, pink, gray and brown and paint brushes!

To begin you paint your entire block with the white paint. You can use brown to add a little distressing around the edges. While that's drying, paint the heart (for the nose) and centers of the ears pink. Each ear is cut from a piece of wired burlap ribbon. Then you'll take about 18" of wire and twist each end around the pencil, leaving about 1" in the center flat (to glue under the heart), repeat 2 more times. Then tie a bow from your floral ribbon. Now you're ready to assemble! Just add a blob of hot glue and stick the wires down into it, and the heart nose right on top before the glue dries. Then glue each ear to the back of the block. Finally add the bow. To finish it off, you can dip the end of your brush, a pencil eraser or your finger into the paint to make eyes. My daughter also wanted a mouth for her bunny so she painted one.

Here's my daughter with her finished bunny! All of the girls loved being able to create such a fun project that they will be able to display for years to come!

Here's a look at the bunnies I created as well! I used 8", 6" and 4" blocks to make this family of bunnies. Such a fun and simple project!

Hedgehog Block with Dremel Tool from Creativation

Hey Everyone! I wanted to take the next few posts to share some of the fun projects I made while attending this year's Creativation Show. Creativation is a trade show for the craft and hoddy industry and is a LOT of fun to attend.

Today's project is this adorable engraved wall hanging that we made using a Dremel Tool and a Wood Canvas!

What's so cool about this project is that you don't have to be an artist to make some thing that is so beautiful! We used a coloring book image of a hedge hog and transferred it onto this wooden canvas with graphite paper. Then I just used the Dremel Tool to trace over my lines and it carved them into my canvas! To add a little pop of color I adhered this fun felt flower and now I've got an ADORABLE wall hanging.

Just think of how simple it would be to create any number of fun pieces with just some wood and a Dremel Tool! See you again for more great projects soon!

The Key to My Heart Love Plaque

This has to be one of my all time favorite projects! I found the inspiration on Pinterest and happily finding all the stuff to create it came together easily!

It all started with the beautiful iron letters that I found at Michaels. The lock and key were also there in the same section! I love it when I find everything that's in my head for a project! I also picked up the flowers and mason jar while I was at it, so I didn't have to go searching the craft horde for things when I got home! Next was a quick trip to Lowes, which happens to be next to Michaels. I had them cut me a sheet of plywood to the size I wanted and picked up a pipe clamp and some hardware to attach everything. Then I went home to create (actually to my friend Karen's house, which is like my home too).... The hardest parts were waiting for the paint to dry and putting a hole in the clamp to attach it to the board. Everything else was pretty simple!

I hope you've enjoyed this fun project today!
